Recent Activities
In our circle assembly, we discussed ways we could save energy in school.
 Our ideas included: Â
- Opening the curtains and blinds to let light in
- Turning off lights when we leave a room
- Turning off taps
- Wearing more layers
- Only putting on the heating when we need it
The whole school visited Tacon’s Farm to learn how potatoes, onions and pumpkins are grown. Each pupil picked their own potato and onion and Year 6s were lucky and got to pick a pumpkin each. We will be using the produce to make pumpkin soup and potatoes cons for our Harvest Festival celebrations so keep checking the website to see what we make!
A big thank you to Emma and Tacon’s Farm for teaching us about farming and for donating all we picked!
This week, we have been learning about the features of fiction and non-fiction books. As reading detectives, we looked for clues to help us sort the books into groups. Some of the books were really tricky to work out like the book about fossils that looked like a story book! We came up with a table of clues to help us work out if a book was fiction or non-fiction.
