Recent Activities

Crows Maths

As part of transition and learning about N.C. Wyeth’s ‘Crows in Winter’, we learned in Maths about the history of a tangram. We then used a tangram puzzle to create our own birds. Can you recognise any birds in what we created?

Crows Art

Year Two joined us for a transition morning and we learned about N.C. Wyeth’s ‘Crows in Winter’ painting. We recreated his painting learning how to use a range of media like pastels, paper art and collage.

Forest Schools

We took part in two taster forest school sessions in preparation for our lessons in September. We explored the area, talking part in little activities, and wrote our own safety rules. We can’t wait for autumn term when we will have lessons every week!

Fraction Games

Year Three and Four have been consolidating what they have learned about fractions this week by playing different games. The games ranged from Fraction Bingo where they matched written fractions with diagrams to Fraction Splash where they recognised and named equivalent fractions. They also played Snakes and Ladders by subtracting two mixed number fractions. We worked hard and had great fun too!

UEA Athletics

Some of the school represented us at the U.E.A cluster sports and they did incredibly well. We won a staggering 17 medals! We are incredibly proud of every pupil that went.

Victorian School Children

We learned about what life was like for Victorian pupils by having a Victorian morning in school. We learned our spellings and chanted our times tables. We practised our handwriting and learned what a Victorian play time was like.

We are all glad we go to school nowadays!

Fencing

Diamond Class took part in a fencing morning held by Premier Sports. They learned how to place their feet and how to put the kit on and use it correctly. They also learned the importance of the foils and sabres.

Forgiveness

We thought about why Jesus died on the cross and learned about the idea of forgiveness. We then created two freeze frames to demonstrate what it is like to ask God for forgiveness and what it feels like to be forgiven.

Year 5/6 Residential

What a wonderful three days of residential Year 5 and 6 had at Horstead Centre. We learned to work together as a team to complete some challenges and all support each other to complete some of the more adventurous activities like abseiling and wall climbing. Our teachers said we were brilliant at night time too!

Jubilee Party

The school celebrated the Queen’s 70th Jubilee with a street party lunch. They had an afternoon tea for their lunch and wore their crowns.

Congratulations on your Platinum Jubilee Your Majesty.
