Making Crowns

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Diamond Class designed and made their own Jubilee crown. They learned all about the different crowns that the Queen has and made their own. We think we looked really royal!

Letters to the Queen

As part of our Jubilee celebrations, we all wrote letters to the Queen congratulating her for her Platinum Jubilee. We learned how to set out and write a formal letter and tried to use formal language. We then posted them.

We are waiting for our responses!

The Queen’s Speech

Diamond Class learned about the Queen’s speech and then wrote their own. They presented it to ‘Diamond Parliament’ just like they were the Queen. They had some great ideas for how to support the country!

The Life of Jesus

In RE, we learned about the life of Jesus before he was crucified. We matched Bible quotes to paintings and images to learn what happened to Him in the lead up to His crucifixion.

Library Visit

After the Records Office visit, we travelled to the Millennium Library to learn how a library works to continue to develop our love of reading. Our recounts tell you all that we did and learned there.

Norwich Record Office

Diamond Class visited the Norwich Record Office to learn all about the history of Fleggburgh Village. Please read our recounts to discover what we did and what we learned.

KS2 Football

Diamond Class sent a Year 3/4 and a 5/6 team to the Cluster Football Tournament. We had great fun and learned how to apply all of our football skills in matches against other teams.

Non-chronological reports

In English Year 4 and 5 have been studying the narrative poem ‘The Jabberwocky’ by Lewis Carroll with the intention of writing a non-chronological report about the animal called the Jabberwock.

We learned the features of a report and extracted all the evidence about the Jabberwock from the poem. We looked up facts from other animals and combined these to create our reports.

What do you think of our Jabberwocks? Would you enter the tulgey wood?

Time and Tide Museum

After our trip to the Town Hall, we travelled to the Time and Tide Museum to learn about the history of Great Yarmouth’s fishing industry. We really enjoyed learning all about the different jobs involved in the herring industry and dressing up as fishermen.

A visit to the Town Hall

We were invited by The Mayor of Great Yarmouth to visit the Town Hall to learn how it works and how councils work. We really enjoyed looking around and having a debate in the council chambers. We thought about democracy and our rights to vote and debate. The highlight was having tea and cake in the Mayor’s parlour just like the Queen.
